It’s hard to believe GivingTuesday has already come and gone! Yesterday was full of inspiring stories of giving back and people from all over Guelph joining together to better the community. GivingTuesday really is a special day for us to help out those who can’t help themselves. It is a reminder that every little bit counts. Whether this is a donation, an hour of your time, or simply attending a blood drive, every act of kindness makes a difference.
It’s all about charity! It’s about creating a national movement for giving at the start of the annual holiday season. It celebrates and encourages donations and volunteering activities that support any and all charities and non-profit organizations! Guelph has proven year after year that their generosity goes a long way, and that they know what it means to give back to the local community.
We’d like to thank everyone who came out to our GivingTuesday event: the GuelphGives Community Leader breakfast. We are grateful for our community leaders who made time in their schedules to be with us and for all the attendees who woke up early to celebrate with us at 7am! Our conversation involving the UN sustainable development goals reiterated how we can all do something to make our world a better place. “We are the first generation who could end world poverty, and the last generation who can curb climate change,” was one powerful quote from our panelist, Tom Ewart.
